Description
Technical Parameters

CHG Metal manufactures stainless steel pressure leaf elements for vertical and horizontal pressure leaf filters.

Each element is built with a rigid support frame, an internal drainage layer, support mesh and fine filtration mesh. Standard constructions include 3-layer and 5-layer designs, and the 5-layer element is widely used for edible oil, chemical, pharmaceutical and mineral filtration.

Elements can be supplied in SS304, SS316, SS316L, SS904L and other alloys, with frames, outlet nozzles and sealing connections made to drawings or samples.

Element Construction

A standard 5-layer pressure leaf element combines one central drainage mesh, two support meshes and two outer fine filtration meshes.

The drainage layer creates an open channel for clean filtrate to reach the outlet. The support mesh carries the mechanical load from differential pressure and vibration discharge. The two outer filtration layers provide the required particle retention on both sides of the leaf.

The mesh stack is fixed to a rigid frame by riveting, welding or bolted clamping, depending on the equipment and maintenance method.

OEM Replacement Compatibility

CHG Metal manufactures replacement stainless steel pressure leaf elements for existing vertical and horizontal pressure leaf filters. Compatibility is confirmed from the vessel drawing, original leaf drawing or sample. We review overall width and height, frame thickness, guide clearance, top suspension, bottom outlet, center distance, nozzle diameter, flange standard, seal groove, mesh rating and operating conditions before producing the replacement element.

FAQ

What is a stainless steel pressure leaf element?

+

-

It is the filter element installed inside a pressure leaf filter. The element has a rigid frame, drainage layer, support mesh and fine filtration mesh, and connects to the filtrate outlet or central manifold.

Can the element be used for wet and dry cake discharge?

+

-

Yes. Riveted, welded and bolted frames can be configured for wet or dry discharge systems when the frame, mesh tension and vessel interface are matched to the equipment.

Can your heavy-duty leaves handle high-frequency pneumatic vibration during cake discharge?

+

-

Yes. Our U-channel outer frames are constructed from heavy-gauge stainless steel with reinforced corner gussets. Because the frame squareness is held to ≤2.0 mm, 100% of the pneumatic vibrator's mechanical energy is transferred directly through the leaf face, dislodging sticky cakes rapidly without causing fatigue cracks at the nozzle neck.

How do you guarantee that your replacement filter leaves will fit our specific brand of filter vessel?

+

-

We maintain precise engineering CAD drawings for major global vessel brands, including Amafilter, Sharplex, Sparkler, LFC Lochem, and Niagara. By verifying three core dimensions-overall frame width, panel height, and outlet nozzle geometry-we guarantee a 100% drop-in fit without any physical modification to your vessel racks.

What information do we need to provide to receive a custom dimensional drawing and quotation?

+

-

To issue an exact technical proposal, we require the filter vessel brand/model, total leaf count, overall leaf height and width, nozzle type (e.g., top-discharge or bottom-discharge with O-ring groove), target micron rating, and operating fluid chemistry/temperature.
